Influenza activity is\u00a0<strong>low<\/strong>\u00a0in Montgomery County and across WCO (1 hospitalization reported during week 20).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note that emergency department indicators and thermometer sales data after week 9 are likely skewed due to COVID-19.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>The number of hospitalizations reported for Ohio during week 20 was 4 \u2013 a 60% decrease from last week.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nationally,\u00a0flu\u00a0activity is low, and\u00a0<strong>laboratory-confirmed\u00a0flu\u00a0activity is low; ILI activity continues to decrease and is now below baseline<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>The CDC estimates 39-56 million illnesses, 410,000-740,000\u00a0flu\u00a0hospitalizations, 24,000-62,000 total\u00a0flu\u00a0deaths, and confirms 176 pediatric deaths this\u00a0flu\u00a0season (the second-highest number of pediatric deaths over the past four flu seasons).\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the last weekly flu report for the 2019-2020 Flu Season.
