Attached is the report for last week with Data through 8-30-2020<\/strong>.  The data shows the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The daily average EMS call volume is running 5.96%<\/strong> below the average for August<\/strong> of 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Potential call types remain steady, and for the week of 8\/24\/2020<\/strong> thru 8\/30\/2020 <\/strong>and crews encountered 5<\/strong> known +COVID-19 patients<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Non-traumatic, non-transported field terminations are averaging 1.73\/day<\/strong>, this is .44\/day<\/strong> more than August<\/strong> of last year (1.29\/day<\/strong>), an increase of 34.11%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAYTON\/MONTGOMERY COUNTY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Confirmed cases in Dayton\/Montgomery County have grown from 5,260<\/strong> on 8\/23<\/strong> to 5,728 <\/strong>on 8\/23<\/strong>, this is an increase of 468<\/strong> (8.90%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The week of 8\/10\/2020<\/strong> thru 8\/16\/2020<\/strong> saw an average case growth rate of 0.85%<\/strong>, <\/strong>the week of 8\/17\/2020<\/strong> thru 8\/23\/2020<\/strong> saw a 1.06%<\/strong> daily average, thus Dayton\/Montgomery County is tracking UP <\/strong>so far as case growth rate (Most recent week omitted due to reporting lag)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Deaths in Dayton\/Montgomery County have grown from 127<\/strong> on 8\/23<\/strong> to 128<\/strong> on 8\/30<\/strong>, this is an increase of 1 (0.79%)<\/strong>.  Bringing observed mortality in the region to 2.23%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Our current case incidence of the population is at 1.08%<\/strong>, we have now surpassed the State level of case incidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         NOTE:<\/strong>  A large driving factor to the recent upswing in cases locally is the outbreak currently being contained at the University of Dayton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OHIO<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Confirmed cases in Ohio have grown from 118,367 <\/strong>on 8\/23 <\/strong>to 122,262 <\/strong>on 8\/30<\/strong>, this is an increase of 3,865<\/strong> (3.29%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The week of 8\/10\/2020<\/strong> thru 8\/16\/2020<\/strong> saw an average case growth rate of 0.83%<\/strong>, <\/strong>the week of 8\/17\/2020<\/strong> thru 8\/23\/2020<\/strong> saw a 0.65%<\/strong> daily average, thus Ohio is tracking DOWN <\/strong>so far as case growth rate (Most recent week omitted due to reporting lag)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Deaths in Ohio have grown from 4,094<\/strong> on 8\/23<\/strong> to 4,128<\/strong> on 8\/30<\/strong>, this is an increase of 34 (0.83%)<\/strong>.  Bringing observed mortality in the State to 3.38%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The State\u2019s case incidence is at 1.05%<\/strong> of the population<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNITED STATES<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Confirmed case in the U.S. have grown from 5,643,812 <\/strong>on 8\/23 <\/strong>to 5,934,824 <\/strong>on 8\/30<\/strong>, this is an increase of 291,012 (5.16%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The past seven days have seen an average case growth rate of 0.72%<\/strong>, the previous week saw a 0.79% <\/strong>daily average, thus the United States is tracking DOWN<\/strong> so far as daily case growth rates<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Deaths in the U.S. have grown from 175,651<\/strong> on 8\/23 <\/strong>to 182,149<\/strong> on 8\/30<\/strong>, this is an increase of 6,498 (3.70%)<\/strong>.  Bringing observed mortality in the U.S. to 3.07%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         The National case incidence is at 1.81%<\/strong> of the population<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the normal statistics, this week I have also included an analysis as to the efficacy of masks since the Governor\u2019s mask order went into effect in Montgomery county.  It would appear that there is a significant correlation between the reduction in daily case growth and the wearing of masks.  Other entities across the state seem to be seeing the same with the following two reports coming out of the Cleveland area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
