{"id":1336,"date":"2020-12-25T22:37:53","date_gmt":"2020-12-26T03:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/?p=1336"},"modified":"2021-01-16T11:50:37","modified_gmt":"2021-01-16T16:50:37","slug":"just-in-time-standing-order-jitso-for-moderna-covid-19-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/bulletins-and-jitsos\/just-in-time-standing-order-jitso-for-moderna-covid-19-vaccine\/","title":{"rendered":"Just in Time Standing Order (JITSO) for  Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Attached is the Greater Miami Valley EMS Council Just in Time Standing Order (JITSO) for Paramedics and Advanced EMTs for Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine.&nbsp; Since this is an IM injection, scope of practice precludes use by EMTs or EMRs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Region 3 Regional Physicians Advisory Board (RPAB) approved use of EUA Fact Sheet materials for the JITSO.&nbsp; The JITSO is a checklist, derived from the Moderna EUA Fact Sheet for Providers. Dr. Marriott has approved this JITSO.&nbsp; There are two Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Fact Sheets for each vaccine:&nbsp; one for providers, and one that every vaccine recipient receives.&nbsp; Both are attached for your information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please confirm approval of JITSO use with your Medical Director.&nbsp; At this time, we have been told you do not need to add Moderna vaccine to your EMS Drug License.&nbsp; If that changes, we will let you know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional information:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Local Health Departments (LHDs) throughout our region are receiving Moderna vaccine this week.&nbsp; Some of that is earmarked for EMS.<\/li><li>In addition to providing vaccine to EMS personnel, most if not all LHDs will look to you for assistance at every Point of Dispensing (POD) for COVID vaccines.&nbsp; Make sure your personnel have completed the online training and reviewed the JITSO and the EMS Standing Order for Anaphylaxis<\/li><li>This JITSO is specific to Moderna vaccine.&nbsp; At this point in Ohio, Pfizer COVID vaccine is largely being administered to specific populations by two large pharmacy chains.&nbsp; As more of the Pfizer vaccine becomes available, we will issue an additional JITSO.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/GMVEMSC-JITSO-Moderna-Vaccinator-Checklist.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 600px; \" data-width=\"600\" data-height=\"600\" data-mobile-width=\"500\"  data-scrollbar=\"both\" data-download=\"on\" data-tracking=\"on\" data-newwindow=\"on\" data-pagetextbox=\"off\" data-scrolltotop=\"on\" data-startzoom=\"100\" data-startfpzoom=\"100\" data-toolbar=\"bottom\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"on\">GMVEMSC-JITSO-Moderna-Vaccinator-Checklist<br\/><\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-block-pdfemb-pdf-embedder-viewer\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attached is the Greater Miami Valley EMS Council Just in Time Standing Order (JITSO) for Paramedics and Advanced EMTs for Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine.&nbsp; Since this is an IM injection, scope of practice precludes use by EMTs or EMRs.
