{"id":160,"date":"2020-03-17T19:01:58","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T19:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/?p=160"},"modified":"2020-04-02T11:26:23","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:26:23","slug":"covid-19-running-stats-dfd-march-17-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/situation-reports\/covid-19-running-stats-dfd-march-17-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Running Stats &#8211; DFD &#8211; March 17, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here are today&#8217;s updates.&nbsp; Couple of points on it and research that was conducted today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Iran did not report to the WHO today.<\/li><li>Values from Italy appear to have jumped significantly, this is not the actual case rather it has been determined Italy is reporting slightly differently than some countries.&nbsp; They were removing their recovered patients from their reported count to the WHO.<\/li><li>Spain has now crossed the 10,000 patient threshold.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For some hopeful news however:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>There is preliminary evidence coming out of Australia and the Pacific that looks promising that the anti-malarial drug Chloroquine may be helpful as both a treatment and potential prophylactic.&nbsp; It appears the NIH and some researchers here in the states as well as in Australia and the South Pacific are starting to test this potential.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/COVID-19-Running-Statistics-17-Mar.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 600px; \" data-width=\"600\" data-height=\"600\" data-mobile-width=\"500\"  data-scrollbar=\"both\" data-download=\"on\" data-tracking=\"on\" data-newwindow=\"on\" data-pagetextbox=\"off\" data-scrolltotop=\"on\" data-startzoom=\"100\" data-startfpzoom=\"100\" data-toolbar=\"bottom\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"on\">COVID-19-Running-Statistics-17-Mar<br\/><\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-block-pdfemb-pdf-embedder-viewer\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are today&#8217;s updates.&nbsp; Couple of points on it and research that was conducted today.
