Influenza activity is decreasing in Montgomery County and across WCO (only 3 hospitalizations reported in week 15).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note that emergency department indicators and thermometer sales data after week 9 are likely skewed due to COVID-19.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>The number of hospitalizations reported for Ohio during week 15 was 46 \u2013 a 62% decrease from last week.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nationally, flu activity is decreasing, and laboratory-confirmed flu activity is low; ILI activity continues to decrease but is still elevated likely due to COVID-19.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The CDC estimates 39-56 million illnesses, 410,000-740,000 flu hospitalizations, 24,000-62,000 total flu deaths, and confirms 166 pediatric deaths so far this flu season.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gmvemsc.org\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/MMWR-Week-15-4.5-4.11.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 600px; \" data-width=\"600\" data-height=\"600\" data-mobile-width=\"500\"  data-scrollbar=\"both\" data-download=\"on\" data-tracking=\"on\" data-newwindow=\"on\" data-pagetextbox=\"off\" data-scrolltotop=\"on\" data-startzoom=\"100\" data-startfpzoom=\"100\" data-toolbar=\"bottom\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"on\">MMWR-Week-15-4.5-4.11<br\/><\/a>\n<p class=\"wp-block-pdfemb-pdf-embedder-viewer\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flu activity remains regional in Ohio and continues to decrease across much of the U.S. Please see the attached flu report for MMWR week 15.
