INDICATION:
Patients with known or suspected Cyanide poisoning
ADULT:
Sodium Nitrite: 300 mg (10 ml) 3% solution slow IV

THERAPEUTIC ACTION:
Oxidizes hemoglobin which then combines with cyanide to form an inactive compound,
CONTRAINDICATION:
Nitrite/nitrate allergy
PRECATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS:
Methemoglobinemia if given in excessive amounts
